Cosmetic Extractions

There are times when a tooth or many teeth become so damaged that they are no longer maintainable. Traditionally, the technique and philosophy was to extract a tooth with little regard to the damage caused to the remaining bone that surrounded that tooth or the gum tissue that overlaid that bone. When teeth are missing, the bone and gum tissue starts a resorptive process that can become quite severe. This can lead to undesirable appearance to the smile and face.

With careful planning and implementation, teeth can be extracted when necessary and the bone and gum tissue enhanced to keep everything healthy and attractive. Often a grafting material can be placed in the site of the extraction for implant placement or preservation of the proper contours to keep your teeth, smile and face beautiful.
