Sleep Disorders
Many have poor sleep patterns (estimates are 40 million) that can be helped with effective oral appliances that can be worn at night. This simple concept is to hold the lower jaw slightly forward and move the tongue away from the back of the mouth (the same concept as when giving CPR). This clears the airway to allow for smooth passage of airflow that reduces or eliminates snoring. This can give a more restful, prolonged and deeper sleep, for both the snorer and their partner. In more extreme cases, the snorer may be experiencing periods of obstructive apnea (breathing actually stops). We know that snoring and sleep apnea increases the risk of stroke, heart attack and hypertension. If you don’t sleep well, you owe it to yourself to ask us about have we may be able to end your suffering (your partner may thank us most).
